I have a love/hate relationship with head lice… I love head lice because without them, there would be no Lice Happens and I wouldn’t have found the perfect job for myself. I hate them because of the disruption they cause so many families who are affected.
I also hate that there is so much misinformation out there about treating head lice infestations, which often lead families to failure and frustration. As a teacher, I also love that my responsibility as a Lice Treatment Specialist is to not only provide safe and effective treatment, but to also teach families about head lice and ways to prevent infestations in the future!

It is always my pleasure to be welcomed into a family’s home and meet each family member as I check their hair or treat them. As much as I enjoy my time with a family, I get great satisfaction leaving a family, knowing they have the proper training and tools to enable them to be infestation-free in the future.
I do make sure I leave at least one thing behind — peace of mind! The peace of mind that only education and debunking of incorrect beliefs, and thorough treatment at the hands of a professional Lice Happens Lice Treatment Specialist can bring!
While I leave you with peace of mind, I make sure I don’t leave you with the fear and anxiety often associated with head lice. You won’t need those anymore. You’re in control!

A friend was singing the praises of the service she received from Lice Happens after having tried unsuccessfully to eradicate head lice from her family for weeks. She was so impressed with the efficiency and professionalism of the treatment specialist and the process.
As I listened, an unwelcome memory involuntarily entered my consciousness — that of my husband and I returning from Guatemala with our adopted daughter not realizing at the time she wasn’t alone!!! The time and effort of combing through her hair, the awful smelling products, and taking care of the home was beyond overwhelming for this new mom!
I love working for Lice Happens because it’s so rewarding to treat a family and leave them empowered to conquer the situation on their own in the future. As a former teacher, I get to use my “tricks of the trade” to help calm parents and make the treatment a positive experience for children.

As a treatment specialist with Lice Happens, I truly enjoy going into clients’ homes knowing that I can help them and really make a difference in a situation that may seem so overwhelming to them at first. Every family helped is different, and I welcome that variety – be it little or big children, few or many children, and of course the adults too.
As a mother myself, I have been lucky in that my children have never had head lice yet – but I’m glad that I would know exactly what to do if it ever happened! The “No Shame. No Blame.” philosophy, the extremely high standards for treatment, the use of non-toxic products, and the focus on educating and empowering clients to help themselves all come together in making me 100% committed to the work I do for Lice Happens.

With several years experience in Customer Service and Administration, over 20 years volunteering in the public school system, volunteering as a coach in Special Olympics and local sporting clubs, and raising five children I’ve seen and overcome my fair share of challenges. Yet, these types of challenges tend to pale in comparison to battling a head lice infestation! The typical approach to treating head lice often becomes an all-consuming struggle for families, who just long for life before lice!
With patience, compassion, enthusiasm, thorough training, and the best tools of the trade, I’ll turn crisis into calm and defeat into empowerment!

For the past 19 yrs I have worked in a preschool setting, wearing two hats – school nurse & primary teacher. A large component of that job was educating parents to help guide them to create the most positive atmosphere ever for their child to grow and thrive.
As a Lice Treatment Specialist with Lice Happens, I will greatly continue that role — treating the child and family while teaching the parent, which, again, allows their child to thrive!
Lice Happens prides itself on the educational component of their service and this focus, along with extremely high standards of treatment, makes this a company that I enjoy working with!

About 3 years ago, I had the pleasure (??) of having Lice Happens come to my home and my experience was fantastic. I recommended them to all of my friends and found myself examining my neighbor’s heads along with their kids since I was the “resident expert”. When I found out that Lice Happens was hiring, I knew that was the job for me!
I relish the opportunity to educate Northern Virginian families about lice…there is too much misinformation circulating and I love to watch the relief on a mom’s face when she realizes that her house is NOT infested! Meeting new people, being able to help them manage a highly stressful situation and leaving them with peace of mind makes this job so worthwhile. I truly believe in this company and after we help you get rid of your worst nightmare, you will too!!

It’s a true pleasure having found gratifying work that allows me to help people and bring together all of my skills into one place; Lice Happens! I’m sure to call upon my years of experience counseling families in difficult situations in an emergency healthcare setting as I respond to clients’ urgent need to get rid of head lice, transition them back to normalcy, and empower them through education and training.
Using safe, non-toxic products while respectfully and compassionately working with families within the privacy of their homes represents everything I would want for my own family. My driving force is to leave families I serve with peace of mind and a pleasurable experience.
I look forward to each day in my role as a Lice Treatment Specialist!

My past experience as a licensed cosmetologist and the skills I gained as a hairstylist are a natural fit for the Lice Happens team. I wanted to make a valuable contribution to my community, and when I discovered how great the need for head lice removal services was in Delaware, I contacted Lice Happens. I had read about their focus on education and empowerment, and their dedication to the highest quality service using only eco-friendly products, and was thrilled to find that they matched my personal philosophy.
I am looking forward to helping families and school communities in Delaware with professional, all-natural head lice treatment services for years to come!

When MJ Eckert, my college roommate, told me she was starting Lice Happens, I immediately knew this was a service I wanted to offer to the families in my area (Philadelphia and Southern NJ). I completely appreciated the value of this service, after battling head lice with my own daughter and hearing horror stories from parents throughout my years as a youth lacrosse coach, field hockey referee, and Girl Scout leader.
As an Environmental Scientist, I fully embrace Lice Happens’ non-toxic, eco-friendly, and pesticide-free approach to head lice removal!

I love my job as a Lice Happens Lice Treatment Specialist! Lice Happens provides a fact-based, methodical plan to treating head lice infestations so families no longer feel at the mercy of head lice. Their thorough training program equipped me with myth-debunking facts supported by sound research and the best tools and combing techniques in the business.
Our products are all-natural and pesticide-free. With my degree and previous career in Environmental Science, safety has always been important to me. Having recently worked in a school environment, I embrace Lice Happens approach to providing in-home head lice removal services with professionalism, compassion, and our signature gentle humor to comfort parents and their children during this otherwise stressful experience. I derive great pleasure in returning my clients lives from chaotic, confusing, and helpless to one where they are calm and in control – all in one visit!

I took my background as a teacher, joined it with my interest in parasitology as a Veterinary Technician, and mixed it with my love of helping others to become a head lice treatment specialist at Lice Happens.
Lice Happens focus on education is something I whole-heartedly support, as the myths about head lice continue to persist. Also, the non-toxic treatment offers peace of mind to all of us concerned by the less safe options that are available.
I hope to help families in the Triangle area let go of the worry, stress, and shame that comes with a head lice infestation. When I leave your home after a visit, your life can go back to normal– you will be empowered with the tools and knowledge to guarantee continued success!
